Outdoor Learning at Home

Connecting to nature is great for children’s wellbeing, which is more important now more than ever.

That’s why Learning Through Landscapes have launched Playful Nature! On 21 May, which should have been the next Outdoor Classroom Day, they are inviting everyone to celebrate their connection to the natural world by dressing up in nature. If it’s possible or you have the space, children could spend time playing outdoors in their creation on the day. Or they could dress up for their daily walk or hang out on the balcony to make their neighbours smile. Whatever you do, share it on social media on 21st May using #PlayfulNature.

Learning Through Landscapes have also provided online resources and activities for outdoor learning. Click the link below to find out more!

WIN a book token!

You child could win a £10 National Book Token for themselves and each of their classmates – and surprise them all when schools reopen!

While your child is at home, encourage them to create a National Book Token design for their competition. Whether it's the school crest doodled in ink, a pencil drawing of the entire class, or something completely different, and the team at National book Tokens will choose one child's design to put on a National Book Tokens gift card every week for seven weeks.

When schools open up again, the young designer and their classmates will each receive a £10 National Book Token – emblazoned with the winning artwork – to inspire them to choose their next favourite book from their local bookshop.
